Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the child of Peter Silk, an academic, and Ilkay Silk, who is an actor director, producer, educator, playwright and director of drama of Drama at St. Thomas University. Her father is from Britain, while her mother is the "Turkish ex-pat from Cyprus who is now living in England." Anna's first memories include attending play rehearsals as well as watching her mother's working. As a child, she was featured in a variety of commercials. Anna moved to Toronto in Ontario for the purpose of pursuing her acting. Over the years following, she made the move into Los Angeles. Seth Cooperman was introduced to Anna in Los Angeles at an acting training workshop held in 2007. The couple got engaged in 2009. Anna became a Jew in 2011, after she converted to Judaism. They were married civilly in December of the same year, and they then renewed their vows at an Jewish ceremony in Fredericton, in April 2011. Bo's similar-sex romance to Lauren (played by Zoie Palmer) was featured in the list of CNN's all-time favorite TV Couples and was named the top Television Couple in 2013 by E! Entertainment Television. Anna's popularity on the internet grew thanks to the success of the television series.
